Virag Dandekar, M.D.
Dr. Virag Dandekar received his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine degrees from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He completed his residency training at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, and received his board certification in Radiation Oncology from the American Board of Radiology.
Dr. Dandekar’s research has been published in his specialty’s major peer-reviewed journals, addressing topics in the treatment of cancers of the head and neck cancer, cervix, bone and lung. His research has focused on treatment techniques such as high-dose rare brachytherapy, tomotherapy-based chemoradiotherapy, and tomotherapy for stereotactic body radiosurgery.
Dr. Dandekar is a member of American Society of Therapeutic Radiation Oncology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the American Brachytherapy Society.
